Liphook in the Medals
Congratulations to Robert Chester for his well deserved Silver Medal in the junior section of the shoot. Robert only just missed gold by one point!
Pierre Reader unfortunately had an `off day` managing an unlucky 13th place out of 35. First timer Andrew Laver came in with a creditable 21st place. Scott Russell and Toby Galtress ended placed 28th and 32nd, Toby not being sure if he is right or left handed!
In the senior section our only representative was Matt Carrig who did his shooting in one of the first details and stayed at the top of the leader board most of the day, finally being squeezed out of a medal positon by one point! A super effort in a very tough competition. This section produced the best scores of the day even beating the adult section.
In the `Own Rifle` Competition, Robert, Pierre and Matt set out to win glory for Liphook but unfortunately in each case…………nuff said.
The Medals were presented by Richard Merryfield, the Hampshire County Commissioner. The truth is that he only turned up to present me (Dave) with a new (extra - how many do I need) warrant as a Scout Leader for Hampshire but could not escape the presentations to the winners, Bless Him.
Liphook had the honour of hosting this event, which was well received by all who attended. My particular thanks, to all the Liphook people who made this happen.
