The Scout National Shoot 17th/19th October 2oo3 has attracted six Scout entries and three Leader entries. Matt Carrig, Pierre Reader and Robert Chester have also entered the 'Own Rifle' competition at Walton Firs. After Pierre's shoot last Thursday, shooting two consecutive 43's, he is on course with his training for the event.
An opportunity not to be missed: - SCOUTSHOOT 03 at Bisley, Sunday 7th September 2oo3. You will be able to shoot either 7.62mm or 5.56mm NATO calibre High Power Rifle at 300 yards, CO2 Pistol, Air Rifles, Field Target and Gallery Rifle (.38/.357 calibre) all for £15:oo a really good day out. Ask Matt as he went last year.
Entry requirements: - you must be 14 years old on September 7th 2oo3. Download the entry form from the Surrey Venture Scout Rifle Club web site. You will need to organise your own entry, (Dave hopes to be on site). Entries must be in by 30th August 2oo3. Let Dave or Scrolin know if you are going.
As promised here are the dates for the Hampshire 2oo4 County Air Rifle and Pistol Competition: - The eliminator round will take place at the venues and dates as follows
Sunday 23rd November 2oo3 at the 9th Bramshill - Yately HQ.
Saturday 29th November 2oo3 at…Portsmouth!
Sunday 7th December 2oo3 at Copythorne HQ. (Southhampton).
You may choose any date/venue that suits your diary. Scrolin and I will be at the Bramshill eliminator. Come and see us to arrange your entry. If you qualify the County final will be at Hiltingbury Sunday the 15th February 2oo4. Good Luck in the competition. Any Scout can enter this competition, However I would recommend that if you enter, you spend some time at the club to do some training and to learn the competition rules.
Clay Shoot 4th October 2oo3 RAF Odiham Clay Pigeon Club (25 Birds) Shoot with 12 bore shotguns at flying clay targets. Age limit 13 years by 4th October. Cost £10:oo. Download the entry form from http://www.dohoo.clara.net/hsrc/ and follow the instructions. Closing date 1st September.
Nearly there! Scout Camp 2oo3. Lot's of Air rifle Shooting and Archery. I hope you have not missed this great camp. If you have make sure that you don`t let your parents book holidays over camp next year! We ALWAYS have camp at the end July into August.
Winter Camp…Scouts…Come to camp this Christmas and try your hand and eye with a Field Shoot! It will probably be wet cold and horrid! But will be magic fun to shoot against the elements. Are YOU up to the challenge?
Scouts, we are always ready to take on new members in the club, come along and learn a new skill! And work for your Master at Arms Badge. You will need to shoot regularly, show improvement, keep a shooting record and enter a competition all this in only six months!! Easy!!!!!!
Notes for Mums, Dads and Leaders: - You too can come along to the club firstly to find out about what we are trying to do, it`s much more than just firing an air rifle! Join us and learn about shooting, the law appertaining to shooting, the arguments over the `political correctness` and one hundred and one other connected subjects. Don`t be shy! Shooting is for all! From 3 to 93! Did you know that blind people and disabled boys, girls and grown ups shoot???? Yes shooting is very much a sport for all! No excuses GET INVOLVED!!!!!!

The club not only shoots air rifle but is a Home Office approved .22 Rimfire Rifle Club shooting regularly At Odiham (Greywell Range) and Southampton (Bassett Range) We can arrange visits for the Troop or Unit to shoot (see Dave Evans) add a super evening out to your programme.
